How do I sign up and get started?
Pick any plan card above — Free, Solo, Pro, or Ultra — and you'll land on a single sign-up screen (email + password, or Google). Free tier gives you the full editor for projects you upload yourself. The paid tiers add AI generation credits and route you straight through Stripe Checkout after signup. You're inside the editor in under a minute.
How do top-ups work?
Inside the editor, click the credit balance in the top bar to open the buy-credits modal. Drag the slider to the bundle you want — bigger bundles get a bulk discount, all the way down to roughly half-price at the largest tier. Stripe Checkout handles the payment; credits land in your workspace within seconds of confirmation. No subscription, no recurring charge — top-ups are one-shot.
How do I switch plans or cancel?
Click your avatar in the projects sidebar → "Manage billing". That opens the Stripe Customer Portal where you can change tier (Solo ↔ Pro ↔ Ultra), update your card, download invoices, or cancel. Cancellations take effect at the end of your billing period — you keep paid features until then. No email required, no "contact us to cancel" friction.
What happens when I run out of credits?
Generation pauses. The editor keeps working — you can cut, trim, score, and export everything you've already made. Top up credits anytime, or wait for the next cycle. We never auto-charge overages.
Can I use what I make commercially?
Yes, on Pro and Ultra. Everything you generate — video, image, voice, music — is yours to use in client work, ads, social, broadcast. Solo is for personal and non-commercial projects only.
Do you train on my footage or prompts?
No. Your uploads, prompts, and generated clips are private to your workspace. We don't train models on user content, and we don't share assets with the underlying model providers beyond what's needed to run the generation.
Can I cut my own footage alongside generated clips?
Yes. Drop in your own video files and treat generated and uploaded clips identically — same timeline, same trims, same multi-track audio. Timecut is a real NLE first, generator second.
What can I export?
Industry-standard video and audio formats up to 4K, in any aspect ratio and frame rate. No watermark on any paid plan. Exports require an active subscription — render compute is the bulk of our cost, so we keep it tied to billing.
Will my Premiere / FCP / Resolve shortcuts work?
Out of the box we ship the editor defaults you'd expect — J/K/L, I/O, C, V, B. Every binding is remappable, and you can import a Premiere or Final Cut keymap so your muscle memory carries over.
How long does a generation take?
A 5-second 1080p video clip takes 30–90 seconds depending on the model. Images return in 5–15 seconds. Music and SFX in under 10. Jobs run in parallel up to your plan's limit, so you keep editing while they render.
What does the charge look like on my statement?
Timecut billing runs through our parent company's Stripe account, so card statements read something like "VALID INC * TIMECUT". Email receipts and the Stripe Customer Portal both show "TIMECUT" line items so you can match the charge to the product without guessing.
What happens to my projects if I cancel?
Your projects, uploaded footage, and generated assets stay in your workspace for 90 days after cancellation. Re-subscribe inside that window and everything picks up where you left it. Exports and new generations require an active plan.
